About Me

Hi there! My name is Ido Perlmuter. I am a software developer from Giv'atayim, Israel. You might find me around the internet by my ridicules net name "ido50".

I was born in Tel-Aviv in June 1984; I grew up in Rishon LeZion, where I've lived for most of my life. I moved to Tel-Aviv in 2011, and to my current apartment in Giv'atayim in 2014.

I completed a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Tel-Aviv University in 2006, and served as an engineering design officer in the Israeli army until 2009.

Since January 2016, I have been employed by Scalock, an Israeli startup company located in Tel-Aviv, developing security solutions for containerized software applications on top of the Linux operating system.

From February 2010 to December 2015 I was employed by by Bezeq - The Israeli Telecommunications Corp, developing internal software for managing and diagnosing the company's telephony and internet services.

I am an avid supporter of the Free Software movements, and maintain quite a few software projects released under open source licenses, mostly written in the Perl programming language. You can find more information about my software projects in the Software Development section.

In the past few years I have grown increasingly fond of traveling, and have been making trips in Europe and the USA since 2010. You can find out more about my travels in the Traveling section.
