🔗 2025 United States Trip

In 2025 I decided to once again go an a two-month trip in the US. Similarly to my 2024 trip, I broke the trip to two separate, month long legs in two different cities.

I flew to Chicago, picked up a rental car, and drove south to the St. Louis area, where my friend and his family had just moved. I stayed there for about a week before driving to a small town in Indiana called Culver. The tiny town, with a population of only 1,000 people, sits on the shores of Lake Maxinkuckee. I had rented a tiny home right next to the lake for the entire month of September. I worked during the weekdays, worked out in nearby Plymouth, relaxed near the lake, and went hiking in the area on the weekends. I also drove down to a nothern suburb of Indianapolis to see Sheryl Crow, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. I visited Shipshewana again, this time to see The Sons of the Pioneers in the local event center, and also drove to Chicago for the Riot Fest, like I often do.

After that month I flew to Denver where I picked up a different car and drove north towards Montana. For some reason, car rentals are extremely expensive in Montana, so picking up the car in Denver saved me about $2000!

I drove through Wyoming and reached Billings, Montana, where I had rented a wonderful apartment in the Billing Heights neighborhood for the entire month of October. I went hiking in various preserves in Montana and northern Wyoming, including a second visit to Yellowstone National Park, exactly 10 years after my previous one.
